How the AI Model Works
The prediction engine uses a gradient-boosted ensemble model trained on over 50,000 historical races spanning more than a decade of UK and Irish racing. Each runner in a race is scored across 50+ weighted features. The model outputs a win probability for every runner in the field, which is then compared against available bookmaker odds to calculate expected value.
The confidence score displayed on each tip represents the model's certainty in its top selection relative to the rest of the field. A 90% confidence score does not mean a 90% chance of winning — it indicates the model sees a large gap between its top pick and the next contender based on the features analysed. How to Read a Racecard
A racecard is a programme listing every horse entered in a particular race. It includes the information you need to assess each runner's chances: the horse's name, age, weight, form figures from recent runs, the trainer and jockey, draw position for Flat races, and the current betting odds. Form figures read left to right with the most recent run on the right — a "1" means a win, "2" a second place, "0" means unplaced, and "F" or "U" indicate a fall or unseated rider in jumps racing.
